Heute ist Kunstgenuss total angesagt: Ich besuche das MoMA (Museum of Modern Art). Das Museum ist von 10.30 - 17.30 Uhr geöffnet und bietet viel mit seinen sechs Bereichen: Kunstdrucke und illustrierte Bücher, Architektur und Design, Fotografie, Malerei und Skulpturen (die mich natürlich besonders interessieren), Zeichnungen sowie Film- und Medienprogramme. Diese sind untergliedert in diverse Ausstellungen. Zusätzlich gibt es Sonderausstellungen, diverse Möglichkeiten für "Museums-Shopping" sowie ein Restaurant und Cafés. Bedauerlicherweise sind Fotos nur für privaten Gebrauch gestattet, skizzieren nur stark eingeschränkt mit Skizzierbüchern. Alles an einem Tag mit Muße zu besichtigen ist unmöglich, deshalb konzentriere ich mich auf zwei Schwerpunkte: Ich freue mich u.a. wieder einmal berühmte alte Meisterwerke im Original zu sehen, wie beispielsweise Paul Cézanne, Henri Rousseau und natürlich Vincent van Gogh. Kleine Pause im Museums-Restaurant; danach im Eiltempo zur zeitgenössischen Kunst, die mich auch sehr begeistert. Mit der Metro zurück zum Appartement; viele super Musiker spielen dort. Besonders begeistert mich eine Musikgruppe mit Hillbilly-Musik. Abendessen in französischem Restaurant.

Today totally pleasure of art is announced: I attend the MoMA (museum of Modern Art). The museum hours are from 10.30 a.m. - 5.30 p.m. and it offers a lot with its six areas: Art reproductions and illustrated books, architecture and design, photograph, painting and sculptures (which especially interest me of course), drawings as well as film and media programs. These are subdivided into various exhibitions. In addition, there are special exhibitions, various possibilities for "museum shopping" as well as a restaurant and cafés. Regrettably, photos are permitted for private use only, sketches strongly limited with sketch books only. To visit everything in a day with leisure is impossible, therefore I concentrate on two main focuses. I am pleased once again to see famous old masterpieces in the original, among others Paul Cézanne, Henri Rousseau and of course Vincent van Gogh. Little break in the museum restaurant. Afterwards I rush to the contemporary art which inspires me very much too. With the Metro back to the apartment; many excellent musicians play there. Especially I´m inspired by a band with Hillbilly music. Dinner in a french restaurant.

Schönes Frühstück im Apartment, es ist heute ein wunderschöner, sonniger Tag. Fahre vom Penn Station aus nach Long Island City: Besuch vom P.S.1 Contemporary Art Center. Das Partnermuseum vom MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in Long Island City ist ebenfalls einer der bedeutendsten Orte für zeitgenössische Kunst und ab 12 Uhr mittags geöffnet. Da ich heute Abend von Prince Mc Anthony auf eine After Work Party eingeladen bin, bleibt mir ein halber Tag Zeit für einen lohnenden Besuch. Zurück ins Appartment, isarbote.de-Tagebuch schreiben. Was ziehe ich an: Der Dress Code ist "moderate but business-like dress". Es ist eine Weihnachtsfeier der Fa. Alcon, zu der sie ihre Mitarbeiter und deren Gäste einlud. Ca. 150 Gäste haben einen vergnügten Abend.

Today nice breakfast in the apartment, it is a wonderful, sunny day. Drive from the Penn Station to Long Island City: Visit from the P.S.1 Contemporary Art Centre. The partner's museum of the MoMA (Museum of Modern Art) in Long Iceland city is one of the meaning places for contemporary art and is open from 12:00 a.m. Because I am invited tonight by Prince McAnthony to an after work party, half a day of time remains to me for a worthwhile visit. Back in the apartment writing of isarbote.de diary. What I dress? The dress code is "moderate but business like dress". It is a Christmas party of Alcon to which are invited their employees with their guests. Approx. 150 guests have a pleased evening.

Gebe ein paar Briefe auf dem Penn Station-Postamt auf; um 10.00 Uhr Termin mit Bryant Bemberry, The Jewish Post, im Empire State Building. Er ist zu meiner großen Freude sehr an meinen Kunstwerken interessiert. Rückgabe des Mietwagens. Deponiere mein Laptop im Appartement, kleine Pause. Für Museumsbesuch ist es bereits zu spät, deshalb Weihnachts-Shopping, denn Manhattan ist eine der Welt-Shopping-Städte und Hl. Abend rückt immer näher. Glücklicherweise konzentrieren sich die wichtigsten Geschäfte auf einige wenige Strassen. Auf meiner persönlichen Liste steht heute: Bloomingdale mit wundervoller Schaufensterdeko. Kleines Abendessen, dann fahre ich zu meinem Appartement.

Mail a few letters at the Penn Station post office; at 10:00 a.m. appointment with Bryant Bemberry, The Jewish Post, in the Empire State Building. He is interested to my big joy very much in my artwork. Return of rented car. Deposit my laptop in the Apartment, small break. To visit a museum its still too late, therefore Christmas shopping, because Manhattan is one of the world's shopping capitals and Christmas Eve is not far away. Fortunately, the most important shops tend to cluster near one another. On my personal list is today: Bloomingdale with wonderful window decorations. Little dinner, then I go to my apartment.

Fahre um 8 Uhr morgens mit dem Pkw nach Chatham und hole das Verpackungsmaterial für meine Kunstwerke ab. Zurück nach New York zur Galerie "Amsterdam Whitney Gallery", wo ich die Neon Bild Objekte abhänge und gut verpacke. Verabschiede mich von Ruthie Tucker (Galeristin) und Christina Peck: Es war eine erfolgreiche Ausstellung: Nächstes Jahr komme ich wieder! Auszug aus dem Galeriekonzept:

Zurück zu meiner Luxus-Wohnung in Manhattan: Zwei geräumige Zimmer, große Küche und Bad, geschmackvolle Einrichtung. Viel Zeit für's Fernsehen mit Großbildschirm wie im Kino werde ich wohl nicht haben - leider erlaubt der Vermieter keine Fotos seiner Privatsphäre. Kleine Verschnaufpause, denn heute Abend bin ich zu einer außergewöhnlichen, Bohemian Party in New Jersey eingeladen, mit Künstlern, Journalisten und TV-Leuten aus den USA, Latein Amerika und Europa. Die meisten Partygäste spielen Musikinstrumente. Die Stimmung ist großartig und das Buffet exotisch. Ständig kommen neue Gäste mit ihren Musikinstrumenten. Die meisten spielen immer wieder andere Instrumente, tauschen sie untereinander aus. Ihre Musik verbreitet Freude pur!! Ein Ohrenschmaus zum genießen und tanzen. Zwischendurch spielt DJ Mike heiße Rhythmen. Es ist eine lange Nacht.

At 8 a.m. I drive with my car to Chatham and pick up the packaging material for my art work. Back to New York City to the "Amsterdam Whitney Gallery" where I take down my Neon Picture Objects and well pack. Back to my deluxe apartment in Manhattan: Two spacious rooms, big kitchen and bath, tasteful furniture. I will not probably have a lot of time for television with great screen like in the cinema - unfortunately, the landlord permits no photos of his private sphere. Little break because tonight I am invited to an unusual, Bohemian party in New Jersey, with artists, journalists and TV people from the USA, Latin America and Europe. Most party guest play music instruments. The mood is great and the refreshment bar exotic. Constantly new guests come with their music instruments. Most play other instruments over and over again, they exchange together. Their music spreads joy purely!! A treat for the ears to enjoy and dance. Occasionally DJ Mike plays hot rhythms. It is a long night.

Diesmal fliege ich über Hamburg nach New York und freue mich schon sehr auf diese wundervolle, etwas verrückte Stadt! Es ist das erste Mal, dass ich mit der Airline Emirates fliege; das Outfit der Stewardessen gefällt mir sehr. Bei der Ankunft am Flughafen komme ich schnell durch das übliche Einreise-Prozedere mit Abgabe meines Fingerabdrucks und die Zollabfertigung und fahre mit dem Mietwagen zu meinem Appartement in Manhattan. Auf mehreren New York-Reisen lernte ich bisher einfache Hotels, Mittel- und Luxusklasse kennen, da die Hotels zur Hauptreisezeit häufig ausgebucht waren und ich nur tageweise bzw. wochenweise in einem unterkommen konnte, egal welche Kategorie. Dieses Mal hatte ich das große Glück, dass mir über private Kontakte über den gesamten Reisezeitraum ein Appartement in Manhattan angeboten wurde. Nach meiner Ankunft noch schnell erste Zeilen an die isarbote.de-Redaktion in kleinem Restaurant "um die Ecke".

This time I fly over Hamburg to New York City and am already glad very much about this wonderful, a little bit crazy city! It is the first time that I fly with the airline Emirates; the out-fit of the stewardesses I like very much. With the arrival at the airport I get fast by the usual immigration-procedere with handing in of my fingerprint and the customs clearance and I drive with my rented car to my apartment in Manhattan. On several New York travels I knew up to now simple hotels, middle class and deluxe class, because the hotels were often booked up at the main holiday season and only on a daily basis or by the week I could find accommodation in one, all the same which category. This time I had the big luck, that through my private contacts I was offered an apartment in Manhattan about the complete holiday season. After my arrival quick some first lines to the isarbote.de editors office in a little restaurant "around the corner".
